What Does A Lighthouse symbolize?

I just love what lighthouses stand for. There are so many different meanings, but the one I love the most is the guidance meanings. A lighthouse functions as a guide that shows ships the way in the dark sea. It is amazing how just by shining their light that they can help so many people. Don't you think? When I read this meaning, I thought how much it relates to our lives.

How This Relates To Our Lives

I look at it as there are two different types of people in this world. The first type of people are the lighthouses and the second type is the ships. Both types are good in their own ways and at some point in our life, we play both roles. I want you to think of a time when you went to someone with a problem or situation. It can be a time as a kid or an adult. I will give you a moment to think about it. Ok, do you have it in your head? Did that person listen to what you had to say and provide you with guidance? If yes, then that person was a lighthouse to you. Now, I want you to think of a time when you were the lighthouse. It's harder, isn't it? When we play the role of the lighthouse; we tend to overlook the simple guidance that we give others. The thing we don't realize is how much that guidance really helped the other person.

What Happens When You Become The Lighthouse?

Let me ask you a question. What happens when new styles come out? They spread. I know what you are thinking. Why is she talking about clothing when we are talking about lighthouses? The reason I bring it up is that they have the same outcome. When you become the lighthouse by shining your light and guidance for someone in need, it creates a ripple effect. Not only do you help your friend, but then that friend can use what you said to help their friend and so on. This then creates a whole army of lighthouses to guide the ships.

Each of us has the power to become a lighthouse for someone in our life.
